Beadboard as Kitchen Backsplash

I can’t remember where I came across this photo, but I saved it and keep coming back to it.

Doesn’t beadboard as a backsplash seem like such a fresh (and inexpensive!) alternative to tile?

This lady used textured wallpaper that looks like beadboard to cover the fronts of her cabinet.  That could work, too, I think.  And talk about a money saver!

Now if we can find peel and stick textured wallpaper, I would totally jump in for an easy weekend project that would only take a couple hours.
